The time had come for more power and better safety for "Just Keep Fishing."  I had often felt that the Yamaha
225 4 stroke was just not enough for a 26' Striper.  At least not how I use my boat!   So with the High
Commanders blessing I set off in a quest for a brand and size of a motor.  I decided right away that I wanted
twins.  After asking many questions and looking at data from many manufactures I have gone with Evinrude
Etec motors in 175hp.

I was able to sell both my kicker and the main motor with relative ease.  Then it was a matter of choosing the
Dealer with which I would spend my money.  I talked to several and some of them would just say "no Problem"
"bring her in".  Others asked questions about the boat and then some were very specific with the questions.
Well in the end it was Kitsap Marina in Port Orchard that will be doing the work.

I am going to be taking pictures and reporting on my experience with this whole process.

The pictures say it all.
The re-power is now complete.  The motors run great!  In fact they run extremely fast. I have a lot of work to do just to get used to all the information the
gauges and motors give to me.  Knowing what info to have the gauges show will be quite the learning process.  It is like having a whole new boat!
